OUR BORDER IS IN CRISIS!
"As a helicopter pilot with the border patrol, I logged 65 rescues of agents and aliens, so many in fact that rescues were a normal day-to-day occurance. While flying over a low-traveled desert area known as King's Anvil Ranch, I spotted a woman and an injured man who were left behind by their main group. (Most illegal aliens are neither mentally nor physically prepared to cross the desert over a 2 to 3 day journey). The man's feet were blistered and bleeding. The woman's shirt read: "Yo (heart) Jesucristo." I don't know if she was praying for a helicopter, but I'm sure she was praying. As a first-responder, this was a memorable experience, but not as memorable as those I was unable to rescue."

COCHISE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
THE FACTS...
The Constitution of the United States, Article IV, Section 4:
"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invation; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence."
Arizona Revised Statute 11-1051. Cooperation and assistance in enforcement of immigration laws; indemnification:"(A) No official or agency of this state or a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state may limit or restrict the enforcement of federal immigration laws to less than the full extent permitted by federal law."
DEMA Scope of Work, Section 3:
"(a) Prevent Human Trafficking...(b) Prevent Entry into the United States of : 1) Aliens who are unlawfully present in the United States; 2) Terrorists and instruments of terrorism; 3) Contraband, including narcotics and other controlled substances..."
What Is Happening At Our Border?
In addition to their annual budget, the Sheriff's Office received about $12.8 Million from the DEMA agreement, and a substantive portion of $41 Million from the Secretary of State for additional border security. Furthermore, the Sheriff's Office was recently awarded a minimum $212 Million "temporary" Jail District Tax spanning 25 years (now being legally challenged).
When asked what measures the Sheriff's Office is taking to "prevent" the illegal entry of aliens and drugs into the United States, the Sheriff references "collaboration" with the Feds. and treatment strategies. Collaboration and treatment strategies have not prevented the illegal invasion our county now faces. Preventing border crossings will.
